I’m currently working on a couple of landing pages for a client where, after purchasing a product, customers are automatically redirected to another page that upsells a related offer. This approach is often used as part of a one-page sales funnel, where the goal is to guide users smoothly from purchase to the next relevant step.
I’m using WooCommerce on a WordPress website, and at first I was wracking my brain trying to figure out how to make this work. After a little digging, I found WooCommerce Redirect, a plugin that makes post-purchase redirects simple and flexible.
This plugin can be used in several ways. For example, if you run a membership website, you can redirect new customers to a welcome page that explains how to log in and use the members’ area. You could also redirect customers to a newsletter signup page, or, as I’m doing now, lead them to a page featuring related products or upgrades.
Good design is important, but a website also needs to function strategically to support sales. Using tools like this makes it much easier to build an effective one-page sales funnel that actually converts.
