I recently launched Chocolate Angel Creations, an e-commerce redesign for Donna. Donna makes beautiful, premier chocolate angel gifts that come with an angelic quote. On one page, you choose your chocolate angel and add it to your shopping cart, then you head over to the messages page to pick a pre-written message. (Or you can do it the other way around… LOL!)

I was honestly stuck for a while on how to handle adding a personal message to the shopping cart. Donna wanted customers to be able to pick their message and have it automatically added to their order. At first, I really wasn’t sure how to make that happen. I’m one of those people who needs to sit with a design or function and feel into it, not just plow through it.

I was about ready to tell her I couldn’t do it, but then – while I was at the gym over the weekend – the solution just dropped into my head. I told Donna what I came up with, and she loved it.
