I get a lot of inquiries from potential clients asking about marketing. I get the feeling that many think there is a magic one-time bullet of something you can do, and your business will overflow with clients and customers. I feel a bit put on the spot when I get these types of inquiries. There is no magic bullet. The one thing you can do after you have had a search engine-friendly website built is to just be consistent and place importance on repetition in advertising. So what is the psychology behind this?
It is because of how our brain processes information and makes decisions. Repetition is what strengthens memory and recognition, making a brand or message more familiar and easier to remember. We tend to like things we see more when we see them more. When potential customers see a brand consistently, they start to trust it and associate it with reliability and credibility.
Also, consistency in messaging and visuals gives a sense of stability and professionalism, which tells the customer that the business is legit and dependable. When a brand repeats its message across different platforms—social media, email, website content- this repetition helps to build trust and increases the chances of conversion.
So, there you have it. The one most important thing you can do is to save a bit of time each week to post a blog, send out a newsletter to your list, or post your message on social media. I have committed to 30 minutes a day to focus on my own marketing or product development, each morning before things get too busy, or I blow it off at the end of the day. If you can not do it yourself and can hire someone, I offer marketing and maintenance packages.
