It was my birthday this week (Cancer) and I got myself a subscription to Erank to check out Etsy trend search and more and have been playing around with it. Erank is a search engine software that tells you traffic on Etsy listings, as well as the competition of people selling the same thing. Yes, I am a real geek and proud of it. I have an Etsy shop for website and logo templates that is not getting many sales. I can either come to the conclusion my designs suck or I am just not getting enough eyeballs on my listings for conversion from views to sales. I would like to think it is the latter because I am selling the same templates for DIY’s as I use for clients who choose a theme and I customize it website packages. Those have been wildly successful and have been a game changer for me financially over the years.
So far I changed all the tags on a few of my listings, using all 13 tags, and the views have greatly increased. Still no sales, but I am hopeful. It has only been a few days so a few days and traffic jumping is pretty good.
You can hook up your Etsy shop with the software and it gives you a marketing Health Check for each of your listings. I have been going listing by listing just doing all their recommendations, including finding high-traffic/low-competition keywords to use in the title and tags. Like I said, I am a nerd, so it is fun for me.
If you have an Etsy shop, I highly recommend it. I applied for their affiliate program and have not heard back yet, so I am really just giving this review because I am genuinely impressed. But, a little bit of money from a referral would be nice too, if they get back to me…LOL.
