Check out these websites to provide free images for commercial and noncommercial use across print and digital. Yes, free and no penalty!
Pixabay – Right now this is my go-to website for images for websites. You can use all the photos whether it is commercial or personal. Just don’t try to resell the images or put them on products without a large amount of alteration.
Unsplash – I just had a client turn me on to this website. She sent over some beautiful stock photos for her new website from them, so I bookmarked and I plan to use them more often. I think I even might like the quality of the photos better than Pixababy. The same rules apply though, don’t try to resell or add to products without some major alteration.
Freepik – I use Freepik mainly for vectors. I think they have a great variety of vector icons and add ons for logo design. I have the paid account but you can filter for free items. The same terms applies.
Whether you are a designer or just working on building your own website or marketing material, I hope you find this information useful.
