I recently did a few updates for a client on her website, including a landing page. The goal of the landing page was to book more appointments and add more people to her newsletter list, to keep in touch. I learned a few new things in Mailchimp through this project. For one, I did not want to create a new list in her account, just for the landing page. I needed to set it up so people would get a complimentary ten minutes for signing up and it would be separate from the main sign up form on the rest of the pages on her website.  After exploring the landing pages feature in MailChimp, I figured out I can use it to funnel emails to the main list, but the free gift after signing up would not have anything to do with the main list.  That is exactly what I wanted.

Here is Jeanne’s new landing page. She can use it for a Google Adwords Campaign, or a Facebook Campaign. When you hit the button you will receive a coupon for signing up for her list and all emails are adding to her main list in MailChimp. Landing pages can be used for many different marketing campaigns, but this one was for specifically booking more appointments.

At some point, I am going to have to integrate this feature into my own email newsletter marketing. It is too bad I did not know this before because; it would have saved me an extra step of manually adding emails to my main list. I am like most people in that I learn new things on an “as needed” basis.
