Did You Know?

sales_tax_onlineIf you have an online store that sells products, you are not required to collect sales taxes unless you have a physical presence in addition to the online store. If this is so, then you will need to collect state and local taxes from the people in your state buying your goods. So if you have an e-commerce solution, this needs to be configured to the checkout area based on shipping address.

I have been working on products for an online store and had to make some adjustments to the basic setup and this came up. I really never knew that so I figured I would pass it on to those selling products online. Check out the article from the Small Business Association.
