Interview with Jenny “Yemaya” Cook of RawDolphins.com

Posted by Heather | Interviews | Sunday 31 January 2010 12:27 pm

For the past year I have been getting a pull to go towards the raw vegan lifestyle, mostly because it makes you feel awesome! Like attracts like and I have been coming in contact with more and more raw foodists such as Jenny Cook. She contacted me to design her raw food retreat website for swimming with dolphins and incorporating raw food. Naturally, I learned even more about the lifestyle through this project.

How did you begin the Raw Dolphins vacations?

Ten years ago I found myself on an extraordianry spiritual quest that took me from my ancestral roots and Ireland’s pagan sites, to the Mayan Pyramids in Central America and onto the island of Bimini in the Bahamas where I began my life work with wild dolphins & the history of Atlantis. More recently I trained at the Hippocrates Health Institute in South Florida and graduated as a Natural Health Educator. I decided to take a leap of faith and pieced together all the elements that had personally changed my life for the better. I started “Raw Dolphins”, offering 10 day residential retreats on the island of Bimini, swimming with wild dolphins, teaching about raw living vegan foods, yoga, meditation & breathwork.

What began as a journey of finding myself and what worked for me, has spiralled into a transformational path of healing & interconnectedness for the pods of people who come on our retreats. Bimini is a vortex of energy where “letting go” is inevitable and finding yourself amidst a supportive group environment is the norm. Friendships are formed for life, health is rejuvinated and the dolphins are the icing on the (raw) cake! Diving down in crystal clear turquiose water, with dolphins surrounding you gazing deep into your eyes and soul, their sonar resonating throughout your body as it recharges your every cell. Inane grins abound on the boat as we dance on board heading home into the sunset, blissed out yet again. Another day in paradise, finished off with gourmet raw vegan delights to tantilize your tastebuds and sooth your soul. It doesn’t get any better than this!

How has the internet helped your business?

Since creating my website with Heather I have been exposed to a myriad of wonderful connections through the web, bringing new people who have either had a calling to be with the dolphins, or simply want to kick start their raw journey. Others who, having heard of the prophecies connected to Bimini and Atlantis feel they are “coming home” and feel safe to share their own journey within a group of this kind. Each year this portal brings new and unexpected joyful connections, that form life long friendships as we form our human pod, just as the dolphins teach us.

What is an autoresponder?

Posted by Heather | Internet Marketing | Wednesday 20 January 2010 5:39 pm

An autoresponder is a software program that allows you to send emails automatically at a set time, per week, per day…etc. It could be an email newsletter, a series of tips (health tips, meditation tips, thought for the day…) The emails can be sent out from a specified email list and people can subscribe and unsubsribe, automatically. No extra work on your part. Set it it up and go.

How can they be used to build your business?

Keeping in touch with your clients is a good way to continue building your relationship. People do not always buy from your website automatically so, with their permission, you can send them a series of emails set up over a period of time.

Here are some programs I know of that use autoresponder technology.

Constant Contact

IContact

Mailchimp

AWeber

Mailchimp for autoresponders & opt-in forms

Posted by Heather | New Technology and Services | Friday 15 January 2010 2:53 pm

I just found this new service, MailChimp, which sets up an opt in form for your website, as well as auto responders and email campains. Want to set up an opt in form in which you mail your list a free tidbit by email, once a week? This service lets you do that. You can also set up a form to collect email addresses and give your list a gift or free information in exchange for their contact information.

Staying in contact is the way to build a relationship with your market and MailChimp lets you set it up and go.

There are other services out there but I like this one because the first 500 emails on your list makes it free to use. Build your list and your business and when it gets beyond a certain point you go to the paid plans. I think that is pretty fair!

Interview with Body, Mind, Spirit coach Kat Smith-Starlove

Posted by Heather | Interviews | Wednesday 13 January 2010 6:42 pm

I met Kat almost a year ago when she came to me to design her website www.goddessofchange.com.  Since that time, she has taken off with blogging, creating e-books, helping people on www.SelfGrowth.com all the while maintaining a “body, mind, and spirit” coaching practice.  She knows her stuff, having trained and worked as a registered nurse and has extensive training in the health field.

What do you do and how do you help women find the goddess within?

I believe and teach the link between spiritual energy, inner fulfillment and physical and mental health. When you are spiritually broke, all that you create in the physical world is impacted.  But when your spirit is awakened, you are better able to attract the people, events, “luck”, health and all the abundance that you desire and that life has to offer you.

How did you get started with body, mind, spirit coaching and why?

It became apparent to me, after years of working with people, that we all want the same things in life.  These are to live a life of purpose, happiness, fulfillment and contribution.  In addition we share many of the same obstacles.  The Goddess Woman guides you to find the correct tools needed for change in your life. The change must occur within each woman and Kat believes that as women we must first be empowered and believe in ourselves in order to take our lives in the direction we want.

Kat Starlove practices as an author, speaker, trained life coach, health educator, consultant and registered nurse. Her connections with people from many walks of life inspired the creation and growth of Goddess of Change. What began as a personal quest developed into a passion, that of guiding others to find the answers that she did after much spiritual soul searching, training, and life events.

After working in the health care field for over 15 years, Kat left the health care sector to use her spiritual gifts full time. She is dedicated and has a deep passion to helping people heal, live as they dream and achieve a life of fulfillment Her teaching,  and life coaching skills blend perfectly with her spiritual gifts to tune people into the awakening of their spirits.

You can find out more about Kat Smith-Starlove at www.goddessofchange.com, www.healthy-changes-for-you.com, and www.healthsiteforwomen.com.

Law of Attraction Marketing

Posted by Heather | Law of Attraction | Thursday 7 January 2010 12:40 pm

I have always wondered why whenever I do a bit of marketing for myself…such as email new clients, go to networking events, etc…I get results, but not always DIRECT results.  For instance, I might meet someone who is interested in getting a website designed…I follow up a few times and don’t hear back, they aren’t ready…whatever.  But, I do find that I did put the effort out, I expected results…and then, possibly, a few days later, people from out of nowhere start to call or email me and book projects!  I believe this is law of attraction in action.

I have been reading a book by Penny Pierce called “Frequency”.  In one of the chapters she goes into great detail about how just noticing and taking action gets the energy moving.  Noticing you are putting the effort out, expecting and visualizing results.  She even talks about how just taking your mind off of things you want to diminish is also good for getting rid of things you don’t want anymore.

Yes, let’s be practical.  Ignoring the bills that need to be paid is not going to get rid of them…but obsessing about how little money you have in your account and how many bills need to be paid is noticing and attracting more of lack.  A better idea is to pay the bills, be responsible, but focus your attention on bringing the money in and taking action.

My thought in the new year of 2010 is to take action, noticing, and visualizing, just a little bit, day by day.  Most of the time I take action when I have time and not many things to work on.  I believe it would be better to work at marketing a little bit each day.  I think with just a little bit of effort and expecting results I will get the call from out of nowhere but also on a consistent basis.
